Slow Gaming Experience - Sffc - 19.05.2013

Howdy,

I'm running a

Intel® Core ™ i5-2410M CPU @ 2.30 GHz
RAM - 4,00GB (3.71GB usable)
64 bits operating system
Windows 8

I have this laptop since December, and it hasn't caused problems running GTA nor SAMP. This Saturday, I turned it on, and I couldn't play SAMP nor GTA. In fact, I could play it, but it would run EXTREMELY slow.

I have tried to:
- Reinstall SAMP and GTA SA
- Delete the .set file
- Downgrade Java from 7.0 to 6.0
- Downgrade the settings to make it at their bare minimum (graphics)

I'd also refer that:

I managed to run it, after having it really slow, and then after playing for a while, it slowed down again. I've managed to play it again, and once again, slowed down. Per each minute I get to play, I have to wait 4 hours.

Anyone has any idea on what it can be?

Did you change anything? Or did Windows Update run? I know Windows Update sometimes downloads new (graphics) drivers without your consent. So you might check for that. Always get graphics drivers from nVidia or AMD directly.

Java is neither required for SA-MP nor GTA SA and downgrading seems like a really, really bad idea due to the various security leaks in Java lately.

I know for a fact that Windows updated my computer Friday night, but I can't restore my system (as I also used the optimizer tool).

If it's for the drivers, what can I do?

(oh, and meanwhile, I've re updated java)

I've also checked for viruses/trojans, and nothing

Re: Slow Gaming Experience - Sffc - 20.05.2013

I managed to fix it.

Apparently Windows Updated my computer and turned on ALL my background programs at the same time. Before that I just had a few of them on auto-start. This caused the CPU to not support GTA nor SAMP.

I've managed to correct it.

Thank you for the help and concern.
