Question releated to a dedicated host location! - Balshaw - 17.04.2013

Hello guys!

I just have some questions. If I buy a dedicated server, something I shall where should it be located? I mean like, what's the best location to host it. I'll be a roleplay server, and I need to know where the best place should be to place it. I'm from Europe, but it I'll be a international server.

And if you know about any good hosting companies, please list them down

It's Switzerland or Sweden, or it might be the Netherlands. I ******d this and amazingly I didn't even get a proper answer, but I do know it's one of those countries that has the fastest speed in the world.

Pretty sure it's Netherlands actually.

It actually just depends on your location of players. So i would go with the majority of where your players are located.

I'm sorry I forgot the exact country, but one in one of those areas has the fastest international connection. Maybe hosting in America will be better for Americans, but one of those is the fastest you can get for every country.

It's better to have one near where most of your players play from. Putting it in the center of the world might suffice everyone..

Netherlands, Belgium, France all have cables arriving from overseas. ******'s also building a new datacenter in Belgium.

Yeah but if it's international he wants one of the servers that gets good connections from everywhere.

If it helps, our UK location is the most popular (Europe). I'm sure it's the same with multiple other places. I suppose you cant really tell until you get a decent player-base and see where the majority is from.

In my experience, the majority of SA:MP players are from the UK (or at least AROUND there).
