Weird... You'd think you would get less speed as you download. You should try boosting programs such as Razor, or a program like that.

Gamebooster didn't help for me. All I see it do is close programs. These things are a scam, they can't make your hardware better than it is.

All you can do is, carry out some standard procedures that most people will tell you:
- Lowering down your Visual FX quality and reducing the Draw Distance.
- Using CCleaner to clean up your PC, search for errors in the registry and disable some start-up programs which might contribute to the lag by running as a background process and eat up your connection considerably.
- Using your antivirus (if you have one, of course; if you don't then install one right now as it is a must) to search and remove viruses and malware from your PC.
- Opening up command prompt and typing in: ipconfig /flushdns - to clear out the corrupt information (which raises your ping and causes lag spikes) that you get when you download stuff from the internet.
- Installing a software like PCTuner or something similar to tweak your PC in all sorts of ways, whether it be a TCP tweaker or just an ordinary performance tweaker. This software may come included with your antivirus too so be sure to check it out first.
If all of the above fail (which it does 90% of the time), then I am afraid it is a problem related to your internet connection and you have no option but to contact your ISP.

only one thing that will fix it is try resetting your router or upgrade your computer specs gta sa did lag on me till i formatted everything clean i lost everything but i dont care anyways my specs are
AMD Radeon HD 7700 series 8GB Ram (AMD Athlon II X4 640 Processor maybe not as good as others but it runs games on highest without lag just great for a gaming computer for now but am upgrading much more soon to a better graphics card.
