Open headphones with good bass and sound quality - lolumadd_ - 03.03.2013

So I used to have the Turtle Beach Z2's and they were pretty good. But, I wanted better sound quality. So I got the Razer Kraken's which is a closed (sound isolating) design. The sound quality and the bass is fantastic, however, when I take it off my head after sitting on the computer for a while, my ears have a weird sensation lol. I also don't like not being able to hear outside of my computer noise.

Is there any open style headphone / headset that has good sound quality like the Razer Kraken. No more than $200. Thanks.

Oh my friend has the Turtle Beach X12's. They are even worse than the Z2's!

I currently use these after my TRITTON AX720's broke, they are amazingly amazing. They may not be what you're looking for as they isolate quite well, but I usually find one cup on seems to do me fine when talking to friends.
Logitech G930.

****** Shopping Results (~$200)

My old TRITTON AX720's were pretty good as the boom mic would loop back sounds in my room, so even having the cups on I would still be able to hear people through the boom clear and loud.

****** Shopping Results ($150~)

I seriously don't recommend Turtle Beaches, I've heard reviews of them being absolutely terrible for PC related stuff. A friend of mine couldn't get his working after a good hour of looking up ******* tutorials.

Just go out and jack a set of Beats. That's what everyone else does. xD

A Corsair Vengeance does wonders for me. It is an isolated design but I can easily hear myself type and or hear someone talking to me. (let's say someone rings my door bell, I will hear it). Obviously when having loud music on I don't, but even with an open design you'd have the same thing.

What did you mean by sensation by the way? It some sort of irritated feeling?

Beats are sound isolating and are on-ear not over-ear. Plus, they are way over-priced, the $90 Razer Kraken's have the same sound quality as my friends Beats.

Don't know if I have the volume too loud, but even today in school and now, my ears are still vibrating / rumbling....

...

I've been looking at the Astro A40's. They are $150, open design, look awesome, and are rumored to have good sound quality.
