Well i remember trying this but it failed only the newer version of samp client was poping up even if i try to open the older one.

Install in two different folders. The older version might show up as the newer version but it is the older one nonetheless. I don't know whether the old one works while newer one is installed.

Just keep both installers and install the one you want to play at that time. Simplest way.
