[DEVELOPMENT] iOS - SERVER CONTROL PANEL / RCON -
iMads - 12.01.2013
Introduction
Hello people of SA-MP forums! My name is Mads, i'm a Objective C and iOS developer.
If you are unfamiliar with Objective C, it's the programming language used in iOS and Mac applications.
Quite some time ago i posted a thread about a connection checker, but then a user made a great point. What is the purpose of that application? Why not have a RCON application instead, it will have much bigger success. So along time after i've decided to start on the application.
What can it do?
Your users are bugging you about the server isen't up, you are visiting your grandmother and you dinten't bring your laptop with you. Well here is the answer, take your iOS device open the application. Start and manage your server, all that is required is a internet connection!
This means you can have multiple server's to manage at the same time, and the application will save your server data on the device.
How does it work?
I've gotten a PHP script setup at my website, the PHP script uses Westie's API(might change) and will echo out the response data needed, acording to the GET parameters needed. Same goes with POST.
In the application it uses NSURLConnection, it will visit the link for the API and get the response data, store it in a array where i can use it.
That's pretty much it, feel free to ask questions and give your ideas below.

I have several iPads, iPhones, and other iOS devices but I can't and won't pay $99 to make apps for them.
Did you buy the developer subscription?

I thought of that, but some people might think it's actually SA-MP for iOS.

Hopefully there will be images tonight! Any suggestion are appreciated!
I'm also going for JSON Encoding and Decoding for the data.

You pay $100 a year to be a developer, correct? I assume this APP won't be free, am I correct?

You're absolutely right, this app will have a price tag, but i think most people can afford it, if they really need and want the application

Or perhaps you just use your hosting provider's control panel?

Yes, but some do home hosting. Some don't like their host's control panel. And you won't have to give your password and user for your hosting account, if you wanted more RCON administrators.

Seen this application from a corner, it looks like a good idea, but if you see deeply on it, you're trying to rip money off SA:MP.
Also, whatever you're going to do, you'll NEVER earn from this application. However, no one will pay money to manage his SA:MP server since most of them always fail from first week, considering this, the owners turn the server off.
I am just giving you a advice, you can keep developing but the buys wont pass 10 (probably the SA:MP team only :P). You can do whatever you want though, I just gave an advice.

Hi dude,
This application hasen't been released. But iSA-MP that checks the connection returns players etc. has just been updated to 1.1 and it's for free on the App Store
thanks for your feedback.

Nice job.
But change the font of "server details" etc to a standard iOS font, it will make the whole thing more seamless.
When can we expect release? Thread is over 1 yo.
