Camstudio is good, open source, lots of options. FREE. I think bandicam is based on it.

Yes, indeed.
Camtasia (for basic editing), Fraps (for recording in game).

Or if you want to go advanced, go with Sony Vegas Pro

I'd go with bandicam over any other competitors. Why? This is why..


1. Bandicam compresses on the go, the file sizes are smaller, therefore less to transfer and better for low speed SATA and IDE drives.

2. It's good for just capturing one bit on a screen, meaning, It's perfect for desktop recording.

3. Many audio and video preset options.

4. Quality is actually pretty much the same compared to Fraps, No one will really tell if it's going onto *******s servers anyway, it gets compressed there too.

5. It's just better. It's my favourite, it doesn't loose frames while recording like fraps does.

Fraps definitely , it's not a CPU sucker aswell

Where the hell have you been living, Fraps is probably by far the most hardware hogging recording software out there.
