You can't, unless the domain provider also provides hosting too or if you bought hosting from somewhere else.

Use dns A records to point a subdomain to your servers ip address

What he wants is to have his server with a dns based "ip".
For that , you need to have a vps / dedicated server, and the domain name pointed for it.
