I've never received an infraction for anything let alone untested code, but then again my code usually works. In your case, however, you're returning a string where an integer value is expected.

I think 3 points is a tad too far, but who am I to question the moderators' authority?

No offense, but getting an infraction for posting an untested code is kinda over the top.
