Quality & cheap VPS? -
Batiol - 11.09.2012
Hey
I require a quality and cheap VPS (great combination, I know right).
Basically the VPS needs to be able to hold like 5-10 servers without lagging..
As I'm only familiar with Dedicated server prices, I have no idea how much a decent VPS would cost me per month, I'm asking you guys.
Don't hesitate on suggesting me various VPS providers, go ahead and give me links to their sites/reviews.
Thanks!
EDIT: I'm aware that having 5-10 servers on a VPS is quite a tough thing to do but yeah... Can I do it and for what price
?
EDIT #2: Also, what specifications would I need for 5-10 SAMP servers, each having 20+ players (for example) to run smoothly?

Do you have any location requirements and are you looking for OpenVZ (shared ram), or are you looking for Xen (memory is yours)

You will need very high amount of RAM (if you really are going to run 10 servers) so forget cheap.

Europe location, possibly Germany/Netherlands, France also wouldn't be so bad.
What is the difference between OpenVZ and Xen exactly?

Yeah that won't work....

However i recommend you to use
Hostgator i used to have their level 2 VPS and to be honest it was very good, and reliable i think you need to go with level 9.

Xen provides better isolation and dedicated memory, OpenVZ uses a shared kernel approach so resources are more shared.
OpenVZ is a little bit more faster, but it's your decision.
But in my opinion, if your really going to run 10 servers, I suggest you to get a dedicated server..
Here is a very cheap & reliable dedicated server provider:

If you really want to host 10 servers on a VPS, then here..

I've used them before, but I don't like europe locations for my own gaming community.

The price is extremely high, even though the RAM is quite low.
Doesn't fit my needs, I'd get a cheaper VPS with better RAM to be honest...
Doesn't seem right.

You will need a very high RAM for 10 servers and you can't find a VPS that is cheap with a high RAM, because RAM is important and they will charge on it highly, however again it is up to you.
Why don't you just go with 1 server if it gets a good player base the start with the others.

Those are quite expensive offers.
