Sometimes everyone gets high ping - lolumadd_ - 01.09.2012

On my server, sometimes, everyone on my server starts to get high ping. Like an added 100-200 more. What can be causing this? There were no new timers or anything like that added recently. I have a HTTP() function that gets called every 60 seconds. Could that be it?

PING is depended on where the server is hosted at. Towards your other players, connection towards the host's network.

for example if your host is in France,and the player is in New York,he will have about 300-600 ping.

It doesn't depend on Timers.
it depend on Network Connection.

I know what ping is...and your script can make the ping higher. I've had past experiences with plugins, etc.

Normally my ping is like 80. But when the server goes wacky with the ping it will go up to 300.

I know this has happened on certain servers due to DDOS attacks, have you had any of those recently? I don't think timers will cause much issues unless you have a shitbunch packed together running.
