How do I get the IP for friends? - lilmar - 18.08.2012
I got my server running and it's up and everything for me I am using the 127.0.0.1:7777 IP thingy but how do I get the real IP for my friends to connect (my friends are not like neighbors they are in different states, etc.) Please help.

Be sure to open up port 7777 in your router and firewall.

Mainly go to windows, search "cmd" and open in with admin permission.
Once in the cmd, type "ipconfig". At the top you will see 3 numbers, one of them is like 192.168.1.1. or something like that. So basically you get that number, you put it into your address bar in your internet explorer , and it will open your wifi . The usual password and username is "admin" and "admin" in both.
Search for "portforward" or "games" , and where it says "ip" , get the first number from the "ipconfig" (usually ipv4) and type it in the IP, and type the port you wish to port forward.
Save and it should be done.
At least thats how you do it on most laptops

Use pfconfig.
It is a software used for portforwarding.
