High Ping - slimshady - 11.08.2012

Hi, I'm playing LS:RP at the moment and now and again the server would show up with over 300 ping for only a handful of people, all other servers are fine and LS:RP is running fine and smooth for most people - when I enter I'll be debugged and laggy. Any idea what I could do to fix this or is this something I cant fix? I've played with the Firewall already, no progress.

Well, it's quite possible that your ISP's peering with the datacentre LSRP is hosted in has been changed, usually to save costs.

Run a traceroute to the server IP, and see how awkward the route is. If it's going an obviously inefficient route across the globe, then your best bet is to nag your ISP to modify their BGP routing table.

You can also try to ping the LS:RP IP when you're not online and see if the issue is only when you're online on the server.

Not too sure what you mean by this but this is a screenshot of the server's ping via the SA:MP browser, I was offline and all other servers are fine - as well as other people having no issues.

Could you open a command prompt (Windows+R => cmd) and let me know the output of these two commands?
This would greatly help me understand where the problem lies.

tracert server.ls-rp.com
tracert 209.141.35.172

Both servers are in California, therefore, we'll be able to see if there's a faulty route.
