Do you have a linux or windows os ? linux os vps have all the ports open usually.

You have to use something called windows remote desktop..I havent actually used a Windows VPS...best way is to Contact your VPS provider,They will surely open up a port for you

Ports on VPSs are always open. You dont need to port forward them unless a specific port is blocked by your VPS's Firewall.

Check your firewall first, disable it for a bit if you have to.
