Planning to buy a VPS. - BetaLaxx - 23.03.2012

If a buy a VPS with this Requirments:
CPU: 2 Ghz Dedicated Usage
RAM: 1 GB Dedicated Memory
HD: 50 GB Hard Drive Space
BW: 2000 GB Transfer
IP: 1 IP Address

How much server's will i be able to host public?:
How much Slots Can i use the max?:

I would make sure you contact the company about 2 GHz of dedicated usage will be used quite a bit for a game server. If their okay with that, than it's perfectly fine to handle at least 200 online players 24/7, if gamemode is optimized.

And how much servers will i be able to run on public if 1 Server can handle 200 online players 24/7?

It depends on the gamemode to be honest. My gamemode at 200 players uses about 10% of a Quad Core 3.2GHz, which is for sure under 2GHz of a single core, but it does go up to about 12-13% sometimes. But it all depends, pretty much you can handle 200 full slots completely fine without issues if full, without issues. So that's the math. You could push it to 300 but the CPU usage really depends on the gamemodes.

Okay, Say i have a Role Play Server, TDM Server and a Racing server.
Each server is 100 Slots and all 3 servers have 100/100 Players.
Will there be any problem Handling 3 servers on this VPS? (i know it depends on GM but still wanna know)

It also depends on if that resource allocation truly is 'dedicated' or not.
More than likely, you're limited to 2Ghz, and there's some crummy Terms Of Service forbidding you to max out your CPU allowance.

Another concern may be the disk i/o speed.
If you're constantly updating player stats, having users log-in/out, then it can take it's toll on the shared hard drives.

CPU wise maybe, ram wise maybe but likely not, bandwidth wise no. It all depends.

1GB of RAM should be good for hosting your server, but if you wanna be extra safe go for 2 or more.
