Server Desynchronization Problem - freddy smyth - 17.03.2012

Hi guys, my server (on 0.3d) suffers a horrible problem. Every now and then, the players freeze, then seconds later, appear elsewhere and are that sort of "jumpy" on the server. Does anyone know a quick fix to this? We've suffered greatly.

Any help would be appreciated.

That seems like lag on your providers end. Try contacting them about that.

This could be lag or a (d)dos. Usually after (d)dos attacks the server has massive sync issues, how long does the jumpiness go on for, do your pings raise?

No, it can't be Ddos. Pings are normal, but the players occasionally become desynced until relogging. We have had this problem since 0.3c.

Have you tried contacting your host to see what they say about this?

We changed host recently. We had the issue with the old host aswell.

That means it's most likely an issue with your script/plugins.

Have you tried other Gamemode?Is the problem same or only on this gamemode?

If I don't understand bad your problem, it's problem of your script. Check all scripts of your server and check if OnPlayerUpdate don't return to 0 on some script.

Yes, try a other script and see if it has any issues.

If it does not, most likely its your script and something else causing it.
