Using LAN to my advantage - Infinity - 14.03.2012

Hello, first of all, what I want to do is completely harmless.

Now that that's out of the way, is there any way to, let's say, open a website on another PC (or even all the PCs) within the same network? For example, I'm on computer A, I press a key/enter a command and ******** opens on computer X.

Again, what I want to do is completely harmless!

Windows remote desktop would proably be the easiest, activate it on computer X and connect to it with A. After accepting the connection on X you can do whatever you like, including opening websites.

Well, it's more of a prank were pulling. I saw a person I know do it once using a batch program, too bad that I haven't seen him in ages.

Normally it shouldnt be possible without having previous access to the target computer. Else it would be more than a security risk of course, if you could just control other peoples browsers

It is possible per cmdbox but sadly I don't know anymore how it was called again.
And it's no security risk unless you let random people into your homenetwork.

I don't think it's possible doing this using windows natives in versions further than XP (remote will always work though). XP's cmdbox was that unsecure you could even change the pass of other accounts, change folder owners & restrictions etc.

There are probably a lot of programs around the interwebz to do this kind of stuff, but I guess that's not what you needed.

Doing "shutdown -i" in cmdbox will scan for every computer on your network - also internet. You can shut them down here with custom messages.

And as you know, these kind of stuff might trigger your anti-virus
