Does TS3 really help a server? - Bruce_Norris - 13.03.2012

So guys, I just restarted my server and we had about 21 players online today which was alright, I'm hoping for more kinda soon, any ways we just got teamspeak about 30 mins ago and I was wondering does Teamspeak actually help increase your player base?

tell be about your experiences with it and if it helped, thanks!

I wouldn't say it increases your playerbase. But it's nice to have, and I'm sure people that play your server will enjoy it.

From expericane I wouldnt say it will increase your player base, However people will be talking to each other through voice and it really helps declutter the chat and means you dont have to mute everyone.

Reasons why it doesnt increase your player base:
Its not unique around 2/4 of server have it.
People often are n rooms with familys on their laptops while people are watching TV, therefore they dont use voice.
People yell down the team speak mic like %Ј$^ers and it can really get annoying.
A lot of people dont offer private team speak lobbys.
People would rather use skype.

I think so. you can use it to talk to people on your server.

It's better enough for a roleplay server, as they can rply talk in the radio instead of using a ingame command to keep in contact of each other.

By using teamspeak you start to create a community. People talk, get to know each other. And over time you will find them staying on teamspeak even when they are not on your server!

Of course it won't increase your player base, but it's little things like that which help to gain REGULAR players rather than a high number of players.

If people see that you're dedicated to running a good server enough to do things such as give them a place to speak to each other while in game, then they'll know that you're not just another faggot who doesn't care about their players, which will make them more inclined to come back. (assuming the server itself is good :P)
