I also had this sometimes, probably it's because multiplie people log into ******** with the same IP
or it happens because you add random people as friends

It happens because you're logging in from un-identified device / different IP address.

Why the hell does ******** need to have a proof of your identity? Different IPs can mean that an unathorized person logged into your account, but isnt an email confirmation absolutely enough for that? I can understand that you need to verify your identity for financial services like paypal, but ******** is a social network made for communication, so there is absolutely no need to link it to your real life personal identity.
This just proofs to me again that not using ******** is a really good idea. Learn from that and stop helping that company to steal your existence.

It is because a lot of users logged in on the same machine. Sent a support email to them.

It's nothing to do with multiple IP's, I access my accounts on average 6/7 times a day with different connections from around the office and home. ******** DO conduct spot checks on random users every so often, or do this if the account seems to be fraudulent or reported as "pretending to be someone else".

Why wouldn't you give them it? ******** comply with all data protection laws and no sooner has the ID been validated it's destroyed, or if faxed it's shredded.
