hello friends i have my hosted server in Numeric IP but i want to change it into Alphabetical IP can anyone i help me?

****** for "buy domain", you will get tons of links where you can purchase a domain like SAMPServerBlabla.com, you will need to pay like $15 per year. also have a look at your ISP's services, maybe they sell domains aswell.

It's simple. Under DNS management add an A Record pointing to your servers IP. That's incase you have a domain though.

Try http://www.no-ip.org It will only work if your friends IP is static.

On a related subject, does SA:MP even support hostnames? I've tried using my domain to connect to my server from a remote client once and it didn't work. Before you ask, yes, it is assigned to the server's ip, since I run the website on the same machine, which I(and other people) can access fine.

SAMP does, you have to use a DNS function through your website or hosting cPanel, and set it as an A record.
