Setting a NO-IP.ORG server ip adress. -
[WSF]ThA_Devil - 06.01.2012
Are you tired of that your ip keeps changing and you need to post a new ip on forums all over again?
there is way how to fix it!
First what you need is:
Create new account on
http://no-ip.org/
When it's done you need to add a host:
Fill info like is below shown:
*fix* where is written server ip don't write port or it will return invalid ip!
now your server ip is hostname that you chosen and port of server like:
myserverip.no-ip.org:7777
for the final step:
updating ip.
You will need NO-IP DUC (Dynamic DNS Update Clients)
you can get it free from:
https://www.no-ip.com/downloads.php
I am not going to show tutorial how to install it.
After installing it you must login using your email and password what you used when you registred on no-ip.org.
Some reasons why this might not work:
~ port is not open.
~ you didn't followed instructions
I hope that this helped.
BTW. You don't have to chose only no-ip domain. you can chose any you want.

Why we need this since host doesn't changes IP, they are static not dynamic as ours

With some internet providers, you CANNOT keep a static IP at your home.
I use Telenet in Belgium and they provide my router with an IP-address (Dynamic IP).
If I change it to a static IP, my connection is gone.
Therefore, my IP changes frequently.
Does no-ip work with routers as well?
All my computers are behind a router/firewall with a static IP, but the router has the dynamic IP and forwards port 7777 to my laptop where my server runs.
If I want players from outside my house to play on my server, I have to tell them the IP of the router each time as it changes every few days.

Or call your internet service provider and tell them that you want static IP...
