Cant Get GTA iii or Vice City To Launch - Markus_Whiteus - 27.12.2011

Hey guys recently bought GTA iii and vice city off steam for the nostalgia, go to play them wham nothing happens not a single thing, no processes start or anything, I contacted steam they basically went Don't know go ask rockstar.

So thought may aswell ask here to see if anyone else has had a problem like this before and maybe knows a fix.

Pc Specs:
Windows 7
3gb Ram
Intel quad core q9400
Nvidia Geforece 8800 GTS

Also I have tried running in compatibility mode and that did not change anything.

try dosbox, theyre not that old but hey, who knows..

Running in compatibility mode so should not matter.

Edit:
Also I think you'll find Grand Theft Auto 3 is.

Yes, apparently it doesn't search for English games by default (I'm dutch, it only searches dutch dames - lame.)

Anyhow, running in compatibility mode doesn't always work. Since I upgraded to Win7, I could delete a lot of games. Even when running on the compatibility mode.

Maybe try VirtualBox? Your computer could handle it, and GTA VC doesn't eat much resources anyhow.
