Website Copyrights - Lenart - 11.12.2011

Can someone help me how to get copyrights for my website? I think it ain't just writing " Copyrights " under the website or is it? How does it work anyway?

Once you have created something, you automatically own the copyright to it; and it is yours for your entire lifetime, and 70 years after your death too. It must meet certain standards and be entirely yours for you to qualify to be able to call it your own and therefore enforce copyright protection on it.

Yes?!

If you file online using eCO eService, the fee is $35 per application. If you file using Form CO, the fee is $50 per application. Generally, each work requires a separate application. See Circular 4, Copyright Fees.

Re: Website Copyrights - [MM]IKKE - 11.12.2011

You don't need eCO. You automatically have copyright on the content you yourself make, but eCO is something (didn't bother to read it all) which helps protecting this copyright.

Eg record labels. Apart from making CDs of their artists, they also have a section which scans for illegal copies of their (copyrighted) material. The copyright is free, the service to look out for illegal copies isn't.

Copyright is nothing to be paid for. You automatically get the copyright when you create something. Just like what funky1234 said.
