Do you think artificial intelligence/emotions are possible - SourceCode - 11.12.2011

Do you think artificial emotions are possible to make? Or atleast artificial intelligence, What do i mean by it is , not programming certain tasks for it to do, but to decide it's own actions and the system itself is pre-programmed and the actions are a result and re-create something we have, brain, but without emotions

Wouldn't you say most of the things in the world we do are to benefit ourselves? I am sure it is possible with some hard core math.
Anything is possible.

Yes, it's possible to make a robot gain intelligence via what he "sees". But I do not think a robot will ever has his OWN feelings, he'll always copy it from other based on the situation.

it is possible, but not with today's technology.

ROFLMAO!!!!!!!!!!

@topic:

I've seen somewhere on the news where someone programmed a computer to have it react like a normal human being. His face is animated, shows emotions and talks/responds to what you're saying.

I bet it is, but there's simply no gain in having such a thing.
