Requesting VPS Info - Ritchie999 - 23.10.2011
I'm thinking of purchasing a Virtual Private Server to host.
A few questions I have here are this
1: Will that VPS initiate servers right away? As soon as I upload the files, will it begin hosting?..
2: Will I have to design a website just to host on this vps
3: What are some good VPS hosting sites that people have used which are trustworthy and cheap
4: Would anyone be willing to design a website like gameservers or serverffs and be paid for it by me?
Note about question 4: This is only when I get definite information about purchasing the VPS, I'm currently attending an education course which is over in December, I then have a job lined up in a Computer shop.

1) No it won't, you fist have to learn the programme language ''shell'' for Linux, you'll have to start your server through commands, it's like DOS.

Webmin is a great: http://www.webmin.com/index.html
Although I would suggest just learning commands, it will be faster and more useful in the future!

If I were to use Webmin, would I have to upload the entire contents of the rar to the VPS? (Downloaded the Windows version, but obviously I know I'd have to get Linux version for the VPS)

So I've installed Ubuntu 11.10 onto my second hard drive, using it right now.
Installed Webmin from sudo apt-get install, I'm in the localhost page right now.
I'm going to guess its a SSH server.
So I've installed the SSH package,
Now what would I do from here?
I'm looking at SAMP Wiki right now in the Linux Server section, but that's for PuTTY.
How would I set up remote access and all that?
I'm planning on buying a cheap computer soon to put my second hard drive into just to keep my own VPS running on the Ubuntu machine with Webmin
