What u think about this [PC Problem] - toXioneer - 11.10.2011

Hey,I know it's kind of weird to ask this question over here, but as you guys are my fewls I'll still ask xD

So I have a PC which is now in pretty stupid conditions

AMD Athlon™ 64 X2 Dual core processor 5200+
2.70 GHz,8 GB[Going to buy tomorrow] of RAM ddr2
and NVIDIA Geforce 9500 GT

so can I play games like APB and Dead island or even GTA IV normally
WARNING: I know that it can run but im interested if it can run without shitty lags cause im teh movie maker xD
so thanks for helping guys

Re: What u think about this [PC Problem] - DiDok - 11.10.2011

There's no way that X2 5200+ and 9500GT will run these games with Fraps on without lags

(even my X2 6000+ @3,1GHz and HD4850 won't do it)

Is it possible to play those games? I mean like medium setting without lagging?

What does running Fraps have with Video-Card?!
To[X] - Yes U can play dead island with 8 GB of ram. AMD is oldest shit but I guess you can.

A fucking lot.

RAM is the least you should care about.(just make sure you have a good amount[atm, about 4GB])
Rather care about the processor and graca.

I guess it's not true, Cause if you have AMD, You must to have 8 GB cause your processor will be out of power.

Cause I have 512 MB 9900 x2 GT - ATI RODEON and I can play Dead Island with normal graphics and I can use Fraps too )

StreetGT - Maybe Intel is good but AMD can do everything for your computer.

Quite a lot...not directly but a better GPU will allow you to run the game faster with fraps running.

I had the same processor. 8600GT. 2GB DDR2 RAM. Your card is almost the same, and you have 2GB more ram. I ran my game at ~22fps with medium and low settings, so you should play it at around 25. It is playable, but don't expect ultra fast performance.

And RAM is getting more and more important, it's not something you shouldn't care about. 8 may be a little bit too much though, 6 would be better as a PC like yours doesn't have a long "life" to live. DDR2 is slowly dying, so are these AMD's. Plus, you must have a 64 bit OS to support more than 3.9GB.

@StreetGT - sure it's your opinion, but because of people like you false rumors spread out and people actually believe this crap. These brands are almost the same, it depends on the model.

It's everytime the same, Intel has a better thing that AMD, AMD produces another thing better than Intel.

I lol'd so hard at this. You are wrong and ever statement you said is false or misleading.

1. Fraps slows down games especially during recording. Without a good processor / video card, it might lag too much.

2. RAM is the least important part of gaming, you can play games with 2GB or less of ram.

3. AMD is not old? AMD is still making processers, the processor he was NOW is old.

Jeeze, at least get something right when trying to prove someone wrong or help.

For gaming AMD is better then Intel

Good luck mate.
About Video card of course it's important but you can set graphics to low but if you have 2 GB of ram you can't do anything brah, Cause it will make lag.

Re: What u think about this [PC Problem] - toXioneer - 11.10.2011

Guys can you somehow answer to my question? I'm fucking depressed cause tomorrow i gotta buy 8 GB and wondering would it still LAG? so please no need to attack each other plox.

So that's because maybe AlienWare uses Intel instead of AMD. LOL

Not really, Intel destroys AMD for now, but that might change with their Bulldozer release.

OP: 8 GB DDR 2 ram won't really help for gaming. Your CPU, GPU and RAM are all outdated, you should look into upgrading your PC to a quad core and a better graphics card.

Re: What u think about this [PC Problem] - Smacky - 11.10.2011

Guys use Wikipedia otherwise you are nothing.
Ram is more Important - Very Important for gaming.

Guess you're right mate... hope so....

Re: What u think about this [PC Problem] - Liberator - 11.10.2011

I'd skip that computer, wait a bit longer and your probably going to find a better one for a cheaper price.

RAM isn't the most vital part in gaming, it's just a place where the game stores it's temporary files and all it's other shit to work out crap.

Re: What u think about this [PC Problem] - Smacky - 11.10.2011

I guess he must have good chipset.

I have something to tell you, and it is what the fuck?

Yea amd is quite nice compared to shitty/old Intel processors, as in other topic i had to give you some links, as you can see AMD's Best Processor ( x6 1100T ) can't even beat one Intel i7 2600k and i should remember you that the i7 2600k isn't at all the best intel's processor... ( even we are comparing one hexa-core to one quad-core ) XD

So yeah that's not rumors but that's the truth...

Yes it's quite true your second statement still his main problem should be RAM ( Atleast 4 GB's i recommend ) and a better Graphics Card...

Re: What u think about this [PC Problem] - SMX - 11.10.2011

There is such an abnormal amount of incorrect information in this thread I'm not even going to discuss it.

But to help you with your problem, that graphics card is going to be the biggest problem for gaming.
A 9500GT is a budget/lower midrange graphics card that is a few generations old and will most likely never run those games you mention properly.
