server freeze hight cpu/ram - ombre - 26.09.2011

Hi,

I have a problem since some time and i would want your opinion.

My server has an important raise of the CPU and the memory usage, it happens suddenly in some seconds the ram goes from 60 (normal) to 1500-2000 and the CPU overtakes +100% instead of 20-30 %. It is not progressive but It's direct. Result, the server don't crash but the server freeze some seconds, everybody timeout and when the CPU is normal we can to reconnect. Sometimes it happens 1-2 time in a day and sometimes nothing during 7 days. I don't see any warning error in the sql debug, no important change in the GM...Strange I never had that.
I dont know if it's an attack, a exploit flood/dos which raises the ram/cpu or something else.

Let me guess.. You downloaded an NGRP copy, or some other BS.

No and the GM don't have been modified and I script since some years. I don't write here if I don't sure.

What GM are you using that uses that much ram and cpu ?

It could be alot of reasons for that
Like a big loop with something big in it which will take alot of CPU
Also a big variable could take up some CPU
