Finding the distance between each point in a ip. - chrism11 - 04.09.2011

I simply need to find a way to find the length between each point of a ip.

For Example, 1.11.111.1 between the start and the first point is 1, then between the first point and the second is 2, ect ect.

I was wondering if there was a way to find this?
