[IDEA] A new Hosted list... - LZLo - 28.08.2011
Hello all!
I'm thinking about a new hosted list which can be contains the servers that have hosted by a public hosting on the internet.
The name can be for example 'Internet Hosted'.
The 'Internet Hosted' contains: the servers that can be do a 40% or more response in average to the master server (all the servers that hosted by a gamehost or by VPS), do not contains: temporary (home) servers.
As you know there are 3 of them in the SA-MP client: 'Favorites', 'Internet' and 'Hosted'.
The 'Internet Hosted' can be the 4th in the list.
The 'Internet Hosted' would be free to register a server and use!
Where can be the servers registered (for example):
- On a webside which in connection with the sa-mp.com
- In the client
- etc.
Why is it good? (I think)
- The servers get more players about +30%
- The players can choose: connect to a home server or an internet hosted one?
- Players can see that the server is hosted in 0-24h.
- SA-MP lifetime would be increased
- The 'Internet Hosted' would be free to register a servers and use!

If your server is not online at all-time average 40 or more % the master server will delete your server from the list. No. Just no. People have suggested stuff like this before. Sa-mp doesnt need this at all.

ok math:
there are currectly 24899 players online and 4450 online.
24899/4450 = 5.59 players/server
is it not a bit slim?
future...
20000/5500 = 3.63
hmm?
what now?
why? we can't choose now the hosted ones and the best ones!

This idea isnt that bad, but another list is a bit too much if you ask me...
I think a filter is a better idea (Hostname,Players,Ping,Mode,Map,Hosted) or something like that, then you can "filter" the hosted servers out yourself. (or a Uptime counter showing how many hours the server has been up already).

the point of the hosted list is so it won't be over crowded like the internet list!

If your server is not online average at 40 or more % the master server will delete your server from the list.
An you won't be able to add it for a week.

I reckon they should add a junk section, and store 2000 roleplay servers in there.
