If I got a VPS with 1GB of ram
What's the max players I could have on the server..
I seen a thread and searched for it but couldn't find it.

Uh, it's not the RAM that matters, it's the Internet connection upload speed.
You could have a singular 500 player server which is filled with 1 GB of RAM, but you'd need an upload speed of around or over 100Mbps.

Ok, well I have 250GB of BW
Also I think the connection is 100mbps.
Thanks.

The RAM does infact matter. A good script will use 30-35MB or less.

Yes, but a relatively decent VPS should be able to handle most gamemodes. The highest RAM usage of a server I've seen myself is 192 MB, and even on a VPS with ~384 MB of RAM, there will still be plenty of memory available (IMHO, a lower-spec VPS wouldn't even be worth it for gameserver hosting, unless it's a more.. basic game).

Well, I guess that should do. Start out with a lower number of playerslots and try monitoring your bandwidth usage to make sure you don't get over it in a month.

Yea.. also, would Centos 5.5 be a good OS to run a SA:MP server on?

CentOS is a good enterprise-level Linux distribution. Seeing that a lot of trusted SA-MP hosts use CentOS on their servers, I'd say yes.

I agree. Linux is the best OS for VPS' and Dedicated servers, I'd go for CentOS 6.0 x86 as x86 is what most computers are compatible with.

I know what x86 and x64 are...
What program do I use to connect to the VPS running Centos?
