Where to report server rcon hack attempt? -
Chicken0895 - 09.08.2011
Ok so long story short, the server I am a co-admin on was rcon hacked, to the point where both me and the server owner were rcon banned. We have proof of the hack and who did it, the only question is where do we report it?

Yeah. So his server is blacklisted so he can't hack again.

You cant report against him any where. If he is registered then take his IP and go to server , login with rcon then /rcon banip **.**.**.** .

Nowhere. SA-MP team does not do anything against hackers, whether you can confirm it or not. It is your responsibility to secure your server.
See
here for a little more support on banning hackers.

I know. There's gotta be somewhere we can report him. It's a clear violation of samp rules to hack another server.

Just because it violates the terms, that doesn't mean the SA-MP team has to action it, and they don't. I think Netzeek was the only exception.

It's up to the server owner to take action against people who are making denial of service attacks on their server, just like people who attack this website and the masterlist get reported to their ISP by the members of the SA-MP Team. So if you are coming under attack, block the attacking IP address and report the attacker to their ISP, that's the best that can be done on the internet.
If you're worried about someone trying to bruteforce your RCON password, either disable RCON completely using "RCON 0" in the server.cfg file, or else make sure your RCON password is not vulnerable to dictionary attacks (use a complicated and long password).

Yeah, that's generally what I was trying to say, though I may have inadvertently implied the wrong idea.
SA-MP shouldn't be expected to resolve these problems either way - it's just in the terms for legal reasons in case anything really bad could happen that affects multiple servers.
