Crash on servers with password - Meta - 08.08.2011

Hi there!
A friend found a very creepy bug in SA-MP (i think so).
After his GTA stopped working he deleted the gta_sa.set file.
Since then he could not enter servers with passwords. All he gets is a black screen after the first loading screen (where the second one with the loading bar should be) and the default windows error message that sa-mp.exe stopped work.

I just removed the server password and then he could join it

Does someone have an idea what this could be?
I think it's not server related because the server works for all my other players aswell.

(PS: he uses Windows XP and it always worked before)
