What be this cause? -

Hello guys, randomly at some time my server freezes, it doesn't make us quit though but it responds in about 20 seconds or if you reconnect. Not sure why this is happening, doubting it will be gamemodes problem though perhaps the ram.
I'm running a VPS (Linux) on CentOS with 382 mb of RAM/MEM
Running these plugins:
irc
sscanf
MapAndreas
streamer
On average the server uses about 100 - 120 MB of ram/mem but I had about 20 players on the server today:
Thats what the command "free -m" says. Looks ok but not perfect, I've seen many many people say volt host is great, would it be good to move to them?
Though straight forward I reckon its got to do with the RAM/MEM. If I have to move hosts please tell me, I don't want to waste my money for nothing..
I submitted a ticket to Volt-Host, all about how much ram can a server use.
Thanks alot guys, Lorenc.

MapAndreas eats ram. I think it says that clearly in the download topic?

True. Also, have you tried running it on your home computer? If you get the problem there as well it most probably is an error in your gamemode.

I would attempt to upgrade your VPS. I myself am running a VPS to run my server and it works quite well, I even have it hooked up to a 100mb/s port, but even still it can lag a little bit, so I'm upgrading to a dedicated server. If you have the money, I'd suggest considering that route, or going with a SA-MP host such as Server-FFS or by any other means.

Yeah, I already knew it, without mapandreas I would of got a 256 MB VPS, I don't seem to get any error on my gamemode nor I haven't exprienced it freezing on my computer.
I'll have to try really soon that, if it's that I don't know what I'm going to do D:

You're right, though on the AndreasMarket they posted something about serverffs, volt-host looks really reliable. Everyone likes it and it works quite well, I still need to know how much RAM I can use for the server though.
Thanks for the help guys.

Bump, still happening and I'm using ryders map andreas include.
No lags where detected on my test server, I suspect ddos but not sure. I doubt every 5 seconds a kid would ddos
Could it be onplayerupdate?

Lower string sizes. use a higher interval global timer instead of OnPlayerUpdate

How much CPU are you limited to? I know some providers give you like 400Mhz per box...
Tech Hosts are good for VPS's, located in France with
good pings!
