Any size will do, you can enable/disable background repeat afaik if it doesn't cover whole page

The point of PS is to do things freely..So you can set it to 10x10 or 23423x5345 if you have a good PC.
For *******, it would be good to set it to 1280 x 720 for HD, or 1920 x 1080 for Full HD.
