You should use a server on you computer (if it's for private using. If you have a lot of players, you should have a good computer).
I can help you to use it, with a DYNDNS if you have a dynamic IP. And for free !

It'es very esasy to upload files using FTP, you can find lots of tutorials on the internet. I let you search a little, if you don't understand at all, contact me with MP, I'll help you
You must know how to use FTP, it's useful for a lot of things
