Why would you need more then 4gb of ram for a SA:MP server?

No, but just a part of its memory address capability. And I dont think any samp server will need that much RAM.
64 bit versions might save some ram on windows 64-bit machines, as windows just fills up the 32 bit addresses, but that wouldnt be much, I dont think it would be worth doubling the required plugin compile versions
