Partical lag -
Fallenmaster - 04.05.2011
Hello everyone,
I'm currently experiencing a problem which is getting pretty annoying. If I create smoke by holding the forward and reverse key in a vehicle, the last wheel(s) start to create smoke, which drops my FPS down from 60 to 20-10. I've tried a lot, like re-install my whole game but no success. The same goes for flying in the clouds up in the sky, extenguishing fire and swimming.

It acts like that.
Things like smokes will cause lags. Just like playing the furmark.
You can try to lower the resolution/quality to get some more frame rate.

I have a fast computer, all my settings are low, all of them except for the resolution, I put it to 1280x960 (if I'm correct). I just saw a video which also created smoke by their last wheels and they didn't lag at all!

Give the PC specs then.
Also using mods on these effects will make your PC becomes more lag.

Even when I didn't have any mods I was still lagging, and the only mods I currently have are sound, weapon and skin mods.
PC specs
Intel® Pentium® Dual CPU E2220 @ 2.40GHz 2.40GHz
3.00 GB
32-bit Operating System
Windows 7 Professional

Using the game's frame limiter is the best way to fix this problem. Go in to the display settings in the game and set the "Frame Limiter" to On. Use the command /fpslimit 50 in the SA-MP chat input. If it's still a problem, lower the frame limiter by using /fpslimit 40 etc.

Sadly enough it made me lag more in general and the smoke/fire/cloud lag didn't go away. I can record my game with Fraps and show you what happens when I create smoke, fly trough clouds or extinguish fire.

Graphic card?
I have Sempron 2500+(Palomino) 1.68GHz and HD 2400Pro AGP.
I run things at low quality and don't have much lag.
Also I think GTA:SA is not optimised for Crossfire/SLI...
So even you have 2x5770, it just acts like 1...
