Which one should I use for my new server forum?

I'd say SMF phpbb isn't secure enough I guess and it doesnt have the quality that I look for.

Well, since these are OpenSource and free for use, I'd recommend them. As an open source, you can add more stuff, if you know PHP. phpbb3 & SMF RC 2.x, both are having their own advantages. But, if you're looking for features, you can go for both of them since you can add features yourself, that you think the other one has!

I've used phpbb for months and i loved it. The smf admin cp is horrible for me.

Well these are opensource scripts...
In opensource i like that you can add more stuff and futures to them and share it
But cos its opensource than its much easier to avoid protection since you know what is the protection and how its working
