Maximum recommended players? - linuxthefish - 03.04.2011

I've been running my own personal website at home on a old Compaq laptop, and i'm going to move my SA-MP server there aswell. What would be the recommended number of max players? I've been getting around 8 players on at a time, and that number is slowly rising.

I suggest a 30 slot server. That shouldnt be too little or make your computer slow.

Internet usage is unlimited (within reason), and i think my internet speed is more than enough.

We can't base it without knowing the internet speed, pc specs aren't a big deal if we're talking about a samp server, hence you have a good optimized script.

His download 80+Mb/s, upload 20+Mb/s afaik.

Also, people think having 500 slots available means people will join, that is completely false. People join servers that make them interested not on servers who has 0 people and 500 free slots which also means that noone likes the server. Start off at a decent amount of slots 30-50 and gradually increase it.
