Invalid SA-MP File - ownagedocter - 16.01.2011

Error
Invalid SA-MP File.

Why do I get this? It's on loading samp.exe and shows no servers when it occurs. SA Single player is working fine for me.

Thanks

No need to get angry, all I'm looking for is some prompt support, however it seems nobody has a solution anyway.

Re: Invalid SA-MP File - PeteShag - 17.01.2011

Uninstall GTA complete, delete any files that may have been left in the GTA folder and run CCleaner to delete any registry's that GTA may have left. Then install GTA again without mods or cheats.

Thanks for the support. I did as you suggested and used revouninstaller, cleaning the registry, etc aswell as deleting the files. I went to reinstall however, and the issue persisted! This is really strange and I don't know what it is nor what to do. What is to be said is that SAMP remembered that my SA-MP username, so perhaps there are some hidden data directories somewhere for SA-MP? If so, could someone point me in the direction? I really need to delete them.

Thanks

Documents > GTA San Andreas User Files
%APPDATA% > (Search for "Rockstar Games" within that directory)

Delete all these files, uninstall SA-MP, GTA San Andreas using the uninstaller. Check Program Files or wherever you had it installed and if a folder is still there, delete it. Use some registry cleaner (I personally don't use it). Restart. Install, make sure it is a legal copy. Downgrade then download and install SA-MP.

Re: Invalid SA-MP File - mincer - 04.12.2012

just remove sa-mp.cfg and USERDATA.DAT in gta san andreas user files > SAMP

This worked for me, thanks!

I would just like to point out that it may be caused by the USERDATA.DAT file corrupting (mine was 0kb and appeared to be empty). Again, thanks, as your method was certainly a lot faster then having to uninstall gta and remove it from the registry blah blah blah.
