I never learned how to do this.
I got an eMachines with windows 7 64 bit, i got another compaq with linux ubuntu 10, and heres what i want to do.
The eMachines connect to a roter which is accross the entire house by a wireless card, so its ethernet port is open. The compaq has no wireless card.
I know its possible to do this so heres my question.
How do i get the ubuntu connected to the inter by plugging them into eachother by their ethernet ports?
I tried something last night that i saw on Yahoo! answers and it did not work.

Hang on, you want to connect the Ubuntu machine to the Windows 7 machine and use the Windows 7 machine to connect to the internet on the Ubuntu machine? Then you just need to make a bridge between the two connections you want to share.

On the windows when i clicked on the connection to share and selected bridge, it sayed i needed two LAN ports, i only have one, but its unused because of the wireless card. And i would connect through the linux, but it needs to get to the internet to install the drivers for the wireless card.
