Questions about creating, and maintaining a server. - Abno - 14.12.2010

Okay. Can somebody give me good info on prices when it comes to paying for a slot (or whatever you call it) to run a server that allows a lot of players?

Also, where do I go to find people who knows much about scripting and building a server?

I am FULL of ideas, I want to create, and I'm tired of playing on other servers, because none of them truly live up to my desired level of 'fun' and potential. I want to create my own, and in the future I will do it. In the time before I do any of that, I want to learn as much as I need to get started later on with full power. So, what would you guys advise me to do?

You can find a list of server hosts here.

There are plenty of people around who are knowledgeable about scripting and servers on this forum.

Start to learn about Pawn, you should also become confident in algorithmic problem solving, as that is what programming requires. It requires a lot of patience. Constantly looking up resources to find information on certain functions and callbacks is a big part of the programming process.
