the sound of the cars (engine) is not working online or offline?

well i cant as the disc is in my attic now and i cant get in there

also i got it highly modifyed and i dont want to lose it all

it did not brake after installing a mod i was in the middle of game play and it crashed

It happens to me on occasion as well. Either something else is trying to use your sound card, or there is just to many sounds going and it can't output them all. It should go away as you restart your PC.

well
only the loading sound, menus and engine dont work everything else does

and its the only thing that requires sound running

and i restarted several times

Do you got this problem with more games, or gta only ? In that case:
Backup your mods (mostly gta3.img), and reinstall gta (like that other guy said) ?

I had the same problem with SA on my old pc, clean installs, etc.

Truck & Tractor sounds did work though.
