Dynamic IP :< - iZN - 05.07.2010

Problem solved.

Re: Static IP :< - Calgon - 05.07.2010

That means your IP dynamic, not static. Get a proper host, instead of hosting it from your home-server, and you'll be fine.

http://www.dyndns.com/ - Sign up for a redirect url to your IP which changes when your IP changes. When your players add the server to their favourites they should add a url instead of your IP.

Then, should you REALLY own a server?

When the IP changes, the person will have to re-add it. SA-MP client caches IPs as far as I'm aware. Not a flawless scheme.

If you want a fully static IP address, only your Internet Service Provider can offer you one, there are alternative methods on the internet that use a domain based re-direction service to your new IP when it changes, however the SA-MP client does not resolve domains everytime it is opened, so people will still need to re-add the domain when your IP changes.

If you really want a static IP, contact your Internet Service Provider, most providers will give you a static IP either for a fee, or for free.

Contact your ISP and ask them for a Static IP or go to a GSP (Game Server Provider)

You can have a static IP on your home network if you contact your ISP (eg: Sky or BT)
