i wanna make an rp server, where do i begin? also how does samp use custom content? like if i have a server thats using a custom map with custom models and cars and weapons and players? can u charge players to pay to play on a server? thank u for all the help guys

Making A RP Server isn't easy now days, Well a successful one anyways, But first tip would be get a team, Don't be on your own, Have some trustful people to put in staff maybe help script etc, Also don't abuse, People go to servers to get away from abuse and have a friendly chatful owner that listens to there needs for a little while your gonna have to do this alot to gain some sort of players.
Your also gonna wanna have an experienced scripter and know basic scripting yourself, Or script yourself whatever does it, Don't make a bunch of random ass timers just a tip ^^, Don't make no GF edit or anything like that because it won't work out, Make something special, Make a forums and don't be cheap and use co.cc or some crap, It only costs 6 bucks to get a .com.
Your gonna wanna have a good hosting, I suggest serverFFS or something along those lines, If you don't got the cash go for KingJ or something, Don't go and order 500 slots though because only 2-3 servers really need 500 slots in SA-MP total.
Don't go and give people a bunch of cash or admin level or something to join your server, This is bad advertising anybody that wants to join a server wants to feel like the owner care's about there staff team, Care's about the RP in the server and not giving away bunch of free cash.
Also better smoke because its real stressful i am telling you now thanks to my server i started smoking again, Some people will try anything to attack your server even just servers opening up so make sure there's no bugs that can do serious damage, Same for the forums and don't give random people you don't trust access to everything or pawno etc.
Your also gonna have to have some people skills, Not be a immature kid "Kids playground always fails", And no offense but not a dumbass because people are always trying to trick you, Gotta be nice but also beable to say No to anybody, Just pretty much alot of stuff lol.
Get on the hosted list, Great way to get your server more noticed, Don't go around spamming other servers or there communities about your server will just show how immature you are, And people there might go attack your server or hack on it or something who knows.
And umm i could go on and on, But to be honest i really personally believe there's no way to make a successful RP server now days, There's just to many allready but there could be always something special about yourself and the server and the staff that makes you different from others and maybe they'll like it.

a friend who got me into playing samp told that there are some servers that u gotta pay to play on them
