BTW, I am totally new to SA-MP, so there may be some obvious thing I am missing, basically I try to get on a server, it brings me to Main Menu, I choose New Game, and this is what happens. Shortly after SA-MP crashes GTA SA does also.
GTA SA Works fine by itself, it is a brand new (legal even) copy of the game, installed on windows xp service pack 3.

Do you have mods? Did you try to uninstall all GTA Folder then install again

The main menu? Not good. Means it doesn't even connect to the server. That can be fixed (every time it has happened to me) by downloading
this DLL and copying it to your GTA SA folder. That MIGHT make it connect to the server rather than giving you the main menu (which is only supposed to come up with singleplayer). As for your crashes, I don't think that's a fix, but one can always hope. Napoleon's suggestion is also good, and you should try that. Also, try deleting gta_sa.set in your user files folder, that's another thing that usually helps most people.
Would be nice if you'd try everything above. Also, it's a good idea to come back & inform us what made the game work for you, if anything did. It's helpful for others, if anyone has the same problem.
