How do I put in a stopwatch for my time trial???! Any help? - olieg38 - 06.04.2010

Hi
I would like some help with a racing server im creating at the moment.
I need a countdown with a freeze so no cars can move then a timer starts till they go over the finish line, then the time comes up in the chat and it is uploaded to a database if possible.
I have the countdown5,4,3,2,1,gogogo but I need a freeze.
Any help will be muchly apreciated.
