0.3a R4 linux server invisible bots. - Reamis - 02.03.2010

Hello,
No new players can connect to our server because of an invisible bot attack.
IP of the attacker is not seen anywhere and it doesn't seem that any bots (as players) are connecting, people just get the "server full. retrying" message.

I only know that bots are hammering the server (trying to connect) untill it's full.
What do I do?

We have had same problem in 0.2x version.

server ip: 193.46.83.161:8049

Re: 0.3a R4 linux server invisible bots. - BP13 - 03.03.2010

I know what you're talking about. I have 120 slots on my server and after a restart It can have 120/120 players. Then after I get home from school there is usually always 2 Invisible bots in the server so the maxed out players is 118/120. With 118/120 it says "Server Full Retrying..." It does not seem worth it to restart the whole server to free 2 slots that are unusable for for reason. The only way to free the "bot slots" is to restart the server.

so what should we do?

Contact your host and ask them to block the attacker, or, even better, the attack itself.
