Sony walkman a good alternative for iPod? - Snickers - 20.01.2010

So I've been looking for a cheap iPod, and I found someone who sells a cheap Sony Walkman (check picture for the type).
Now I've been wondering, is it a good alternative for an iPod?

First I'll explain: new iPods and new Sony Walkmans are very expansive, so I was looking for a cheap one (preferably 'fallen from the truck', or 'stolen'.) Now I got someone (a friends friend) who sells this cheap Sony Walkman, and he doesn't have any iPods, but actually I prefered an iPod because I like the way it works.

So my question is, is a Sony Walkman a good and cheaper alternative for an iPod?

It looks better than an iPod (the GUI). And a huge plus is that you don't have to use iTunes.

OT: I know everyone will laugh, but I use a Zune. The name is stupid but it's actually a really great player. It's better than an iPod Nano.

Yeah I have an iPod touch, was Ј150 when I bought it but it was reduced by Ј50 recently.

I used to have an iPod Touch, it broke. I bought a Sony Walkman, similar to the one you have selected. I regret buying it. I REALLY think you should buy an iPod, regardless how much it is.

Sony: FTW. If you're only going to listen music and watch video's (or other media) I'd choose it. For games: Buy a PC.

Agreed. And the only reason you can't get any virusses on a Mac is because you can't place ANYTHING on it at all.
