samp server on windows 7 - KESBounty - 06.01.2010

when I download the server file and unpack it etc, when I try to launch server.exe it flashes a black screen and then dissapears...

help!

Did you edit the server.cfg

You should also want to check the server_log.txt, there might be an error there.

Your Windows 7 is not the problem, I have Win 7 too, and everything works. Look at your server.cfg and that you are running a real GM

You have to edit the Server.cfg and change the RCON and Hostname. After this it should run fine.

Run the server through command prompt
(Windows + R -> cmd -> cd path:\fully\here\to\the\server\folder -> samp-server (or whatever the exe is called))
and you'll see if it outputs something right before it dies. Server_log.txt should show these lines too and help you fix the problem.
